The Destination Marketing Fund (DMF) is a fund voluntarily charged and collected by an agreed-upon organization and used to support tourism development, marketing and/or infrastructure for the region.

The Canmore DMF was created to fund Tourism Canmore Kananaskis (TCK) marketing activities; capital projects where appropriate; the creation of new festivals, events and programs in this region and lobbying on behalf of the Canmore Destination Marketing Fund – Best of Canmore Accommodation Group.
Sustainable Funding
Most successful jurisdictions across North America have, or are in the process of implementing programs where a charge is added to accommodation rates to create funding for the purpose of tourism marketing in a specific municipality. Each one of the jurisdictions has reported an increase in tourism since the implementation of such programs.
